Quite by accident, at the weekend, Milo and I discovered you can make fabulous hot chocolate with Nutella! What we were actually making was a sauce for our ice cream, but added a little too much milk. It was still delicious and we poured it willingly over the ice cream, but decided if we added just a bit more milk we could have a delicious hot drink.
So on Sunday that was exactly what we did, we took 3 simple ingredients, topped with marshmallows and snuggled up on the sofa to enjoy.
This is such a simple way to make hot chocolate, if you fancy having a go yourself, I've shared the recipe below.
Ingredients ::
(per cup of hot chocolate)
1 x cup of milk
2 x tablespoons of Nutella
1 x small square of dark chocolate (around 10 grams)
Method ::
In a small saucepan, add the milk and Nutella and grate in the dark chocolate. Gently heat whilst whisking all the ingredients together, for around 3-4 minutes or until all blended and heated through to just before boiling.
Serve topped with marshmallows and more grated chocolate if you so desire.
Snuggle up and enjoy.
Oh my, I probably didn't need to know about this. We get through a lot of Nutella in our house as it is - the current favourite being to stir it into porridge. Yum.
